Villages and towns near to Nerja
If you feel like getting out of Nerja and exploring the area a little more there are plenty of coastal towns and mountain villages to give you a full insight into the Axarquia region. Whether it be an interest in history, food, photography or just general curiosity that drives you check out the information on the neighbouring towns and villages below to get you started.
Frigiliana
Just to the north of Nerja, Frigiliana is one of the best examples of a Mudéjar style white walled village you'll find. A great place to stroll around whilst taking some photos.
Maro
Maro is a sleepy little village to the east of Nerja which is surrounded by many of the areas most well known natural and historical sites.
Torrox
Torrox is Nerja's western neighbour and is divided into two areas with a modern coastal area and a quaint village resting in the hills.
Velez Málaga
Capital of the Axarquia region Velez-Málaga is a modern working town yet still steeped in history and well worth exploring.
