Mini bus for Maro beach? - 1st Feb 2017
Following years of ever increasing popularity for La Cala de Maro beach, land and business owners in the immediate area came together last week in a meeting with the local council to look for solutions to related problems. The primary issues raised were due to lack of areas for visitors to park, leading to the narrowing of the road approaching the beach and the blocking of agricultural tracks used to access small holdings. Amongst the discussed measures was the idea of a minibus to take visitors to and from the beach during the summer months, improved maintenance of access roads and greater vigilance by the authorities for illegal camps on the beach. The council representative Cristina Fernández assured all those present that the council was aware of the issues and would be announcing the availability of news funds to tackle them.
